Platinum Trypticon...wtf happened?

Quite simply, what happened with the botched release of Trypticon? First, it took forever to get here. Then it looks as if we Canadians can only get a shot at owning him at a decent price is on Amazon (and at a lightening deal, at that).

Just what happened here? Was it because it was a Target exclusive in the US? How could a Hasbro product, mass produced, be virtually non-existent on store shelves or anywhere else for that matter? Amazon has him like 300 bux. Yikes.

The last I heard of something like this happening was with MP10.

Any thoughts?

The new TRU masterpiece Starscream has never make it to the store shelves here in BC. I am not surprise at all that G1 reissue Tryticons doesn't show up on the shelves.

I think Trypticon didn't show up because it was "wave 2" of the platinum line and wave 1 was still shelf warming. Didn't see Blaster and Perceptor either.

Wasn't hard to find I felt the price was okay.
