I know of it, but I do not understand the fandom of it. Same with Adventure Time. The TFcon ad is on page page 21 of the big guide, under the guest of Shawn Spears.
I had a blast this year. It was my 13th year at AN and at the Rad. My only complaints would be the freakin wind and cold. It was bitter Thursday, I and my sis stood outside in line for 2-1/2 hours to get badges. It was COLD, WINDY and had started to rain. The line was HUGE, they had to get someone to organize it around the TCC's building.
Even though Anime North holds that name, it's evolved way past just that genre. It now expands into all areas of nerd/gamer. It even has huge amounts of K-pop compared to previous years.
Someone drove by while we were in line and set off fireworks. That was interesting. I caught a cold Friday, still fighting it off but managed to go out in cosplay all three days of the con. Missed out on the dance because it was so cold outside.
Food was great, organization was great, hotel room was just okay. Looking into a new hotel next year beause...
AN 2014 Rad is already full! I had no internet Saturday night, but when I finally got on, someone posted that the Rad had opened the block at check-in and now was completely full. I'm on the waiting list, but booking elsewhere just in case. :/
The Doubletree has also opened a block, so if you need a room, grab it. Though there was a huge uproar over all the issues the Doubletree had this year, so beware of that.
