On topic, this. I buy quite a bit of 3P stuff. I've picked up most of the combiners as well as other figures and a few add-on kits. On the other hand, I've almost completely stopped buying Hasbro TFs. The only ''official'' bots I bought in the last year were MPs. For me, the money that I save by not buying Beast Hunters, Prime, Generations and everything else that I find so-so (and that I'll end up purging eventually) allows me to save up and pay for most of the 3P stuff that I really enjoy. But, to each his own.

I avoided FOC after awhile. I bought two or three. Yeah. That saved me maybe 50$ if you count all the rebates. That's at least one MP toy.
I remember having to choose between MP Sideswipe and those stuntedcons. Damn stuntedcons and my combiner weakness.

Thanks bro. Point well taken. I don't why I let myself get side tracked into pointless arguments.

I think
I'm tending towards what most of you are doing just buying what you really really want! I wanted the not-defensor so bad I think I'll just have to budget x amount a month like a savings account. there's so much great stuff now this is the peak of 3p.

Re: Cost of third party toys keeps rising
Lots of great 3P stuff that would look awesome in my display cases but as much as I know I could afford to get it all would I really want it all?
No.
I'm sticking to a very select few items and those that fit in with my MP collection.
The hobby can get really expensive when you get into 3P and the costs do seem to be going up with some.

I really want combiners more than anything.
But the questionable quality, design and most especially execution of 3P products left me with a really bad aftertaste... The hidden price increase was the last straw.
I can't say I never tried.
Other than that I blame Transbot for the stuntedcons. LOL

Herc, Stuntedcons (not completing that piece of shit), HOS Prime, G3 trailer...
Back to what I really love. MPs.
btw I already read people breaking their Diesel... Lots of parts to watch out for as usual. It's only a display piece.

Yea, I'm watching and following along with the reviewers during transformation.
The design is intricate but man the engineering is too complex when you have pieces breaking like that.

Re: Cost of third party toys keeps rising
All toys can break if not handled properly, including the MP figures we love so much.

I love how peeps blame fat hands or not being careful. LOL.
I'd like to think that everyone here like that other thread suggests play with them like adults.
I play with them like stressballs yes but more like how echo describes it like a rubic's cube.
