I recently saw on a forum I'm on call CMD Store "scum". The reason he gave was "scalper prices".
I agree with you. I don't mind paying a bit more for something I can't find retail and I expect stuff that is no longer in stores to be higher priced, especially the more desired characters. As for price gouging, Amazon has some pretty ridiculous prices.
