Thundercracker solo or Autobot?
I always wondered seeing how he betrayed the Seekers in All Hail Megatron, some of his actions in G1 with some episodes like "Fire In the Mountain" were he was ready to help Skyfire to destroy Megatron's weapon, to the end were the Decepticons retreat were Thundercracker goes "What's the matter fearless leader? You and Starscream look really geeky. Maybe the Autobots aren't whimps after all". Do you think Thundercracker would turn his back on the Decepticons after thinking that he doesn't want to believe Megatron's freedom "Peace through tyranny" and joins the Autobots? Would he make a good Autobot? How would the rest of the Autobots approach him and welcome him as their newest member. How will some Bots like Cliffjumper, Brawn, Ironhide take it? Would they think that Optimus betrayed their cause by bringing in an Ex-Decepticon. Or would he go solo?

Re: Thundercracker solo or Autobot?
Slight tangent.
This seems to be a reoccurring theme, decepticon turns auto bot. Drift, knockout, dinobot, blackarachnia.. etc. Have we seen much of the inverse ??(Autobot turned decepticon) ??
Back on topic.
Thundercracker would work well as an Autobot. But afterwhile he'll go solo.He gets a repaint with the star spangled banner then changes his name to Buck. Overall hes a loose cannon who doesnt play by the rules, but damnett he gets the job done.

Does Rhinox count? Sentinel Prime from the movies?
Everyone loves characters who redeem themselves, and the story associated. That's probably why it happens more.
Characters that turn traitor, and the associated stories, can be a downer, especially if you liked the character. That's why it probably happens less.

Re: Thundercracker solo or Autobot?
LOL What if questions are kinda pointless. What if in the 86 movie when Prime says "Megatron must be stopped, no matter the cost!" he really ment "Autobots lets get off this rock and nuke em all from orbit, its the only way to be sure!" :P

Re: Thundercracker solo or Autobot?
Thundercracker would only mesh with the bots who can fly. In numerous bios they state that he feels he's superior to anything that can't fly, also he's only follows orders from Megs cause he fears him. I think thundercracker would go solo than joining the autobots.

Re: Thundercracker solo or Autobot?
In Transformers Cybertron, Wheeljack turned from Autobot to Decpticon because he felt abandoned by Hotshot in the midst of battle. He was trapped and Hotshot had orders to get the surviving Cybertronians out of danger so he left Wheeljack trapped in a huge fire. It was Megatron that freed him and from then on he followed Megs. He even crossed out his Autobot emblem on his chest and put a little Decepticon emblem underneath it to show his new allegiance. The toy is pretty cool in that regard but I digress. Switching allegiances makes for interesting plot drama and that's my 2 cents.

A fun part of being in a fandom IS asking pointless questions. Asking stuff like who would win in a fight between Galvatron and Megatron or Shazam and Superman? Would a Superman orgasm kill Lois Lane? If Rodimus Prime turns back into Hotrod when he doesn't have the matrix, why doesn't Optimus turn back into Orion Pax when he doesn't have the matrix?
It may be pointless in the practical sense, but as fans, the whole point is to have some F-U-N.
I mean what do you think fanfic is? It's tons of fans asking, "What if?" Some of it's creepy, but a lot of it is fun.

Rattrap seems to have questionable loyalties right now in aiding Starscream. I will not say that he has switched sides, though.
