Heavy Mods & Scratchbuilds Truck or monkey? Both!!! Kre-O Primal Prime (WIP)

Been thinking about this since 2012: do an Optimus Prime triple changer (truck, gorilla and robot). For now I'll try to turn the truck into a gorilla and see if I can squeeze a robot mode later (say, by 2017). This will heavily be based on my Kre-O Leader Megatron custom. Rear of the truck forms the arms, cab form the legs and torso.

So, I worked on the forearms last night. Individually articulated fingers. The thumbs are a bit recessed for now due to transformation, I'll see if I can go around the problem or not. Not sure about the double wheels yet.

Did some more work last night, trying to figure out the layout of the cab. I just realized that building a decent gorilla head out of Kre-O bricks won't be easy!

Truck mode... Legs form the front and roof of the cab. Black hinge at the bottom of the cab will be for the head.

Added much needed shoulder joints so Primal can lift his arms up and down, and a found a way to compress the doors against and inside the chest!









Still need to figure out the feet. I'd also like to shorten the legs a bit.

He can sit inside the cab! Had to hollow out the upper legs and redesign the floor to allow a hinged steering wheel. Headmaster partner doesn't have a proper seat (yet!), he's kinda floating inside the cab (at least his butt is), he's only attached by the lower holes on the back of his leg. Very tight fit, it fills out the cab front to rear (which explains why the steering wheels had to be outside the cab).

Too bad I couldn't make the windshield wider, leg hinges get in the way. Still need to refine both modes, but the bulk of the work has been done!
