Re: Well, who could've seen this coming?
What I don't understand is if these toys are available in enough stock to be sold like this in North America how come their not already being released? It really seems ridiculous that it's taking this long to release the Animated toy line.

Re: Well, who could've seen this coming?
These have been packed and stored for months, Hasbro has been holding of their release due to the movie line still being so successful in sales.

Re: Well, who could've seen this coming?
They could have sold million$ worth of Animated over the last three months with the show actually being on... but instead are trying to get rid of the reminents and milk all the repaints they can out of the movie line ...BAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Summer is coming and outdoor toys are cracking our top 5 list !
Any ebay.ca listings yet?

Re: Well, who could've seen this coming?
The last movie toys were planned well before Animated was a success, so they have no choice, they can't have 2 strong lines competing.

Why not? If someone is not a fan of the movie, but wants to get toys from the show... having both lines going at the same time is not going to hurt the other. Same for the opposite situation. Would it really hurt sales that much? I'm of the attitude that I will buy what I am interested in... not what is necessarily sitting on the shelf.
I just don't get the logic of not having Animated available now. You have the 30 minute advertisment running weekly now (not knocking the show here), why not have the product as well?

Collectors represent only a fraction of TF sales, unfortunately (well, fortunately, otherwise, TFs would be dead by now).
Classics was just a small filler line, much like Universe. Animated is a full-on line, just like the Movie line. If they were to sell Animated toys now, Movie toys wouldn't be selling at all and they would be stuck with boatloads of unwanted movie toys. They sure don't what that to happen. Hasbro is there to make profits, not to please a few hardcore fans like you and me.
