He's not all that much bigger than Primal, as seen in this photo. That price is too much. 3rd party figures, which are much bigger and heavier and also have more electronics, are cheaper than MP-43. Dinobot's price was too much, but Megatron is ridiculous. Also, remember MP-36 was quite complicated and also had lights and sounds, but was nowhere near a $300 US price point.

I dunno. To have an MP BW Megatron say "Yesss" may be worth the price of admission.

Ok, but this photo:
Shows Primal coming up to Meg's waist. We won't know exactly how big is it until we get clearer comparison photos, but I think it's pretty safe to say MP-43 will be a LOT bigger than Primal. And visibly bigger than Dinobot, so it's only to be expected that Megatron, the larger character, would cost more.
Judging by the toy show pics, I'd estimate MP-43 to be similar in size to Armada Tidal Wave, as I'm a big nerd and attempted to recreate the scale in these pictures (and to justify the $400 I know I'm wasting on this figure). Please excuse crappy phone pic.
Not that it isn't overpriced. The cost is absurd, and I understand other collector's hesitation.
At LEAST MP-43 should be the biggest one until they finish BW S1 and start doing Transmetals...

Fair enough, he is a fair bit larger than Primal. But if he is about double the size, and Primal was about $130.00 CAD, then Megatron should be no more than $300.00 CAD. Instead he's over $400.00 CAD. No feature that you could add to this figure makes it worth that much. Lewin Resources oversized MP-10 is two and a half feet tall and is full of electronics and die-cast. While that figure is a "ko", at that size and build quality, it is worth its $400.00+ price tag.
I'm not trying to bash MP-43, but we are giving Takara a bad habit by giving in to buying their products at such ludacris prices. If they are at a loss with MP-43, maybe they'll be likely to change the way they price future Beast Wars MP's.

All I'm saying is, thank goodness for the preorder discounts you get from most Japanese sites.

Priced out of the market with the last two BW MPs. I want to pull the trigger, but can't justify it.

Twice as tall but more than twice as big, Megatron is a lot broader than primal, and has a much more significant backpack. But yes it still costs too much.
I don't however think boycotting the figure based on it's price is the best idea. Not that I'm saying anyone should, or has to buy MP-43, but I could see TT interpreting MP-43's (and perhaps MP-41's) failure the wrong way, and thinking we just don't want (or can't afford) MP's anymore.
And I do see this pricing bleeding over into G1 MP's as well, MP-40 was cheaper but MP-39 and MP-42 cost a pretty penny, for how much actual figure you got. Be wary for when Prime v3 is 40,000 yen

Not to mention MP-36 was well over the $200.00 CAD mark and the recent TRU exclusive MP-10 was $230.00 CAD before any TRU sales or discounts.
My main point is that 3rd party companies are making some massive and amazing figures that rival or outshine TT's products, all at a reasonable prices. TT better get more competitive because, right now, it's just not worth it
