Masters of the Universe Classics

Hi, all.

He-Man and Beast-Man, the first two entries in Mattel's "direct-to-consumer" Masters of the Universe line went on sale a few minutes before 12:00PM EST on Monday December 1st. I was a big MOTU kid from the line's inception and given the "more poseable 1980s toy" aesthetic and the fact that these two characters were my first-ever MOTU toys back in '82, well... to say that this line hit on all of my nerdy nostalgianaut buttons is probably putting it lightly.

Needless to say, I hovered and refreshed on the Matty Collector site this past Monday until the "Coming Soon" tags turned into "Order Now" buttons just before 9:00AM PST. I'm now wondering how many fellow Canadians did the same.

Did any other Cybertron.ca members order these figures? Have you recieved them yet? I also appear to be the only person in the Western world to have his order being listed as having shipped from South America (most reports I've read have these orders being fulfilled from centers in either California or Puerto Rico)... Have any other Canadians run into this?

Any pics of these figs? I used to collect the Neca statues, I'm curious of the quality of these online figs.

Wow... those look like the original artwork in the back of the cards, but in full 3D! Anyone know how articulate they are? Are these done by the fourhorsemen?

Re: Masters of the Universe Classics

My He-man is currently enroute.

If anyone is interested I'll post a review when I get him.

But at around $34.00 cdn shipped, I doubt I'll be picking up many figures from this line. I'll stick with the 2002 figures/NECA Stactions for the m0st part.

The new Skeletor looks like a complete dork. The 2002 figure is near perfection.

Cheers!

Re: Masters of the Universe Classics

they have 25 points of articulation! I have 2 he man and 2 beast man on the way. and I already have 3 of the '08 SDCC exclusive King grayskull figures ( 2 regular figure and 1 statue variant figure)
and they are indeed done by the 4 horsemen!
