To Projectile or not to Projectile that is the question?

When I bought my Universe Silverbolt many moons ago I didn't like the projectile being in his gun so out it came and it was an instant improvement. I liked the idea of looking down the barrel of gun and Silverbolt's gun is great looking without the projectile because you can't see that a projectile suppose to be in there. I like using my imagination with my figure's as opposed to using or having projectiles.

What are some of your preferences and what are some great weapon's without and with projectiles?

Happy Discussing!

I personally like the looks of the smokestack gun for classics Prime(one with silver on it). It is awesome just the way it is.

Yes, Classics OP/UM/NP's smokestack gun and windvane rifle are great IMO, separated or combined.

I also love the arm cannon projectile on TFTM1 Voyager Megatron. The gas tank projectiles on Robo-Vision Voyager Optimus Prime...not so much.

Re: To Projectile or not to Projectile that is the question?

Pretty much all my missles end up in a box or cut down and glued within the gun to give a missle look to it. I dislike projectiles as a gimmick. I did that with the new...damn forgot his name, has 8 missles. Anyway cut them down and didn't glue them but I don't have to open the back part when transforming him now either

I hate it when a figure's missile is too damned sensitive, I can't mess around with Universe Galavatron without watching his missile fly somewhere

Yeah I usually either don't use the missile or glue it in the gun for the effect. I hate when you touch the hidden buttons and the damn missile goes flying across the room!!

I normally don't store the missiles in a manner where they can "go off" and fly across the room.

That said, with something like G2 Dreadwing, or Thunderclash, I mean, how do you not love the missiles? I mean, there are just so many!

Re: To Projectile or not to Projectile that is the question?

I dont bother with the projectiles with most of my figures. The only ones that I may leave the projectiles in is where they actually form part of the gun (similar to the G1 seekers).

I keep missiles with Starscream and the rest of the Decepticon fliers as they look odd without them.

Re: To Projectile or not to Projectile that is the question?

If TFs were never equiped with a projectile again...I would be happy. Especially when they have the god awful "flame" missles ala Classics Rodimus and Ani Blitzwing...looks so bad.
