And you're in Montreal. Try finding a geek girlfriend in a town that has only 30,000 people! Us geeks don't have it easy :P

Congrats to all married people here!
Me and my wife got married last august, a simple one that cost us under 1000$ but was a lot of fun and we even had a little theme going on:

Ok, that's friggin' amazing.
Part of me wishes I could've had a theme at my wedding, but hey, like they say: the wedding is the bride's day; the husband is just an accessory.
Still, I have no complaints about the way it was held. The day kicked ass, and the venue was absolution gorgeous.

This is the thing I notice about collecting. No matter how many nice cases or shelves you have for them, it always seems like they're just about to break out. You never have just the right amount of storage/display space... you're always a shelf or two behind the robots (I think they multiply).

I like that system. So much simpler than a gift registry.

Leading up to a friend's massive wedding event, where his fiance and her family were buzzing about with all the preparations, he joked that his only responsibility was to show up in a tux. Hey, that seems fair.

LOL your absolutely right... my best friend is asian and i was his best men... their reception was nuts ! there was at least 400 people there and there was actually 2 guards guarding the box where the enveloppes full of money were dropped... it was insane ! my wedding had 60 people and that was enought for me lol
one exemple where my wife went nuts is with the photograph... 3300.00 it cost because she wanted a good one... she did but men...
one day my father-in-law asked me: why dont you stop her for spending that much ? i replied: have you ever tried to stop a rampaging bull ? you stay out of it,s way and wait until it falls down from fatigue... then you go in and tie it up LOL
as you might expect she never fell.....
it,s like standing between protoman and a misb minerva for 250.00 dollars... you dont LOL

Re: The Montreal/Quebec Local Fans Banter Thread
I remember seeing those pics from Hhai, congrats!
I just asked the wife about our wedding. What if we did a themed one? Yeah. Ummm nodded in agreement and just said I got the idea from all of you here. Pulled away from that conversation real quick. I think I just lowered my TF budget even more now. So lucky me, that ten dollar budget for the toy con just shrank even more...
In regards to the shelving, every glass display in there were the wife idea and purchase. Left to my own devices I honestly don't know where my TFs would have ended up. :shrug
About women and marriage, the wife and I disagree. All women do want a wedding. It's like P in PBJ where it's P is romanticism. Or like a roses. They'll tell you they don't want any not even for Valentines but really expect you to give them. Or like the rebates and brown peeps. The stereotype is reality.

Oh wow... good point! With that in mind, extra congratulations! You survived the wedding planning, you can survive anything now.
