Love the fact that they are including 2 types of shoulder stickers. The ones without the autobot symbol in the middle look like they can be easily turned intone regular red crosses.

No. I would guess it's needed for Ratchet to avoid any issues with the Red Cross with them already being painted on, at least with stickers it could possibly avoid the trademark infringement. Not really sure but that would be my guess

I doubt that, the Red Cross is just a symbol that anyone can put on anything. It's public domain.

Actually it's not, the red cross is an internationally recognized restricted symbol that if used without authorization can result in fines, charges or civil litigation.
