Cosplay Ratchet-themed Scarf

The original scarf idea belongs to merewyn of our boards here. And this is my take on her scarf based on the theme of Prime Ratchet.

I'm using double knitting, so the other side is a mirror image in the reverse colors:

It's about 40" long right now, or close to 3½ feet. My aim is about 5 feet long.

I want to add an Autobot logo in felt to the corners and this is a paper template to determine size and placement.

1) Vertically 1½" logo.


2) Vertically 1¾" logo.


3) Horizontally 1½" logo.


4) Horizontally 1¾" logo.

I like option #1. Now you will need a Decepticon version. Maybe a Soundwave scarf

Except what would his "theme" be? I mean this one is based off the fact that Ratchet's vehicle mode bears this pattern and is also in his colors.

Use his cassette holder, stiched end on end. Decept symbol ctr'd white center, gold outline and then Blue.

Morally, the Autobot logo should have a strong presence. And I guess most of the time people view a scarf horizontally, so I vote for:

4) Horizontally 1¾" logo

I just need to sew up the right cheek panel and the nose. And the first logo is done. Orange goes better with this scarf, than red would.

Looks pretty stylin'. I still haven't mastered double knitting yet so major props, Carissa! If you have any felting needles, you can needle-felt the logo pieces together and save yourself some hassle sewing the felt together.

So for those suggesting a Soundwave scarf, is this what you're thinking of in a repeating pattern? (Please note, my proportions may be off slightly as I just whipped this up.)

Also, note, I don't have much of an attachment to Soundwave personally, which is I was totally meh about his Masterpiece toy; therefore, I wouldn't make a Soundwave scarf for myself.
