Did I just get ripped off? Need some advice

Hello fellow transformer fans.

I was wondering if I could ask some of you for some advice on a circumstance I came across on the TFW BST board.

At the end of November, i bought a Feral Rex from another member. They had a good feedback thread and I was sent pics of the figure.

I was told it shipped after paying for it, but then after over a month, nothing. I tried to contact the user (not naming any names right now) via email an on the board for some feedback and I have not heard anything for about a month now.

It was paid via Paypal.

I was wondering if any of you had a similar experience or have any advice on next steps.

I can't vouch for anyone but we did go through the Christmas season which almost certainly slow things down a bit. I've done this before....send the person a message saying if they don't respond in a day that your next message goes to PayPal.

send him a pm and let him know that you have not received any communications from him/her for over a month and that if you do not receive a response in the next couple days you will contact paypal and start a paypal dispute. you spent a bunch of money and there is no excuse for that long of a period with no communication at all. you have to look after yourself and not worry about the other guy when that much money is on the table. also, ask for all tracking information and a photo of the shipping receipt if he has said that it shipped, never pay as a gift unless you know the person really well and you trust them.

Where is it shipping from? Did you indicate that your payment was a "gift" like many sellers request or did you indicate that it was for the purchase of goods?

You're out of options if you bought it 2 months ago. Paypal only takes action up to 45 days after the transaction.

I got a message from paypal in october and theyve extended the time you have to file a dispute. contact paypal and see if you are still in time to make one. having paid at the end of november its only just over a month into the sale.

Unfortunately, I think it would make a difference. If you have indicated that it was a "gift" then it would probably be difficult to make a successful claim after the fact that it was actually a payment for the purchase of goods.

I would still try contacting PayPal if I were you but I would honestly be surprised if they give you a refund under the circumstances.

If it was shipped within Canada, there should be tracking. I think even Canada Post's cheapest option has tracking within Canada.

Yes, all the parcel shipping come with tracking.
