Smoke Trails

I'm trying to make effective/realistic smoke trails for missles and the like for dioramas. Here's what I've come up with so far. Any suggestions or other ways of doing it?

( i realize starscream has null rays but hes the only one handy with missles.)

Re: Smoke Trails

if the figure was ONLY going to be used for a diorama and never used for collection basis, you could drill a small hole through the bottom of the missile and glue the wire into it. and then you could add some flame to the bottom of the missile too!

Very cool idea! looks great!

Re: Smoke Trails

Looks good so far. Like dak said just hiding the wire and adding some flames would really make it pop.

Re: Smoke Trails

you might want to try adding some dark and lighter grey shades through out the smoke to give depth via airbrush and flames (Reds yellow orange) at missle tail.

Hiding the wire won't be an issue this was just a test but the flames I can't quite figure out.

I don't have an airbrush however I find dry brushing kind of works

Re: Smoke Trails

Now that is really clever and effective! It looks great already and I can't wait to see what one of your finished dioramas will look like.
