Kamen Rider: which ones to watch?

I grew up watching Kamen Rider Black and loved Kamen Rider Kabuto. I tried Den-O and Decade, the main characters powers especially felt like a scizo-crossdresser and their costumes doesn't help either. the story fell apart for me midway...

I think mostly the costumes play a lot of part with me liking series or not and of course their suit armour powers. I can't explain it but anyway which one are recommended to watch.

trying blade at the moment.

Re: Kamen Rider: which ones to watch?

Blade's story kicks ass. Faiz has a special place in my heart. I personally like Kabuto and Decade quite a bit too, and W is a very enjoyable watch as well.

Hibiki has a different style (which is nice), but falls apart halfway when the production team/staff changes.

I wasn't too fond of Ryuki (characters were annoying to me). Den-O is alright, but I don't see why it's as popular as it is. Kiva was was kinda mediocre to me. I'm watching OOO now; it has yet to really capture me, but I've only gone through 3 eps.

Re: Kamen Rider: which ones to watch?

I just started watching Kamen Rider about a month ago.
Started with OOO's, but because it's the new show. I found myself wanting to wait for new episodes. So I started watching W. I got to admit W was fantastic, very compeling IMO.
I'm watching Decade now (almost done) it's not as good as W IMO, but it's not bad.
I can see what your saying about Den-O, just from what I've seen in Decade. I'm not sure what I'll watch next.

Kabuto. that cocky bastard has a good reason to be that cocky. he's so much fun to watch. the story is great as well. the costume is well made and suit powers are awesome. the voice narrative voice saying all the powers kicks ass.

Re: Kamen Rider: which ones to watch?

You can't go wrong with Blade; the story is told in a straight forward manner at least... that and Garren has some pretty kick ass moments.

Faiz is a visual treat, but the story suffers from plotholes; Smart Lady makes up for those plotholes a bit though IMO

DenO, except for the CGI monster fights with the DenLiner, was pretty good as well. The whole time-travelling gimmick made for some interesting episodes.

Re: Kamen Rider: which ones to watch?

Here is what you do if your a newb but also want to not have to sift through some dated stuff

Start with Kamen Rider: The First the movie. Go on to watch the 2nd movie

Then jump into Kamen Rider Kabuto. Not only is it the best Kamen Rider series, at the end of each episode had historic profiles of the past 30 years of Kamen Rider, so you learn as you enjoy.

After that, watch Kamen Rider Decade. More education and entertainment. After that it's your call.

Re: Kamen Rider: which ones to watch?

Its so hard to top Kabuto. I think my problem is I keep on comparing the rest to it. Last year I tried to watch the entire Kamen Rider collection just so I can relate to Decade but yeah that takes so much time and effort just to watch Decade.
