From the article it sounds like it is a global company.

Re: Goodbye TRU?
If it does happen and Walmart doesn't take the slack by adding to their toy selection, it'll mean we'll have to import everything from the US or Asia. No more 20-25-30-50% off sales, almost always full price (and maybe more) PLUS shipping PLUS customs. Ugh.

Re: Goodbye TRU?
Ya not looking good for brick & mortar.
Well if they do go bankrupt its not there pricing that screwed them. Cuz toys are expensive enough. Its there policies that did it.

Re: Goodbye TRU?
I've been hearing that tru Canada and tru states are two separate businesses though. So this could only affect the states stores.

Re: Goodbye TRU?
I think the articles over-emphasize bankruptcy to get more clicks. While bankruptcy is on the table, it looks like they're more focused on restructuring so they won't have so much debt.
This could be good news, especially if they'll have more sales/lower prices that crappy Walmart, I would happily give them more money.

Re: Goodbye TRU?
I won't be surprised if Walmart closes in a few years, it's always under staff. Every time I go to a Walmart, it's a challenge to find a clerk and it takes me 30 to 40 mins to find one, like I have only that to do all day.

Re: Goodbye TRU?
Was reading about this a few hours ago and hoping this turns around or Pascal's points may become a very harsh reality for all of us

I don't even bother most of the time to find an employee @ either Walmart or TRU. When I did find someone it's always the same answer anyway "All we have is already out on the shelves and/or pegs". Usually an excuse cuz there too lazy to go in the back to look, so if I don't see what I'm looking for in my first or second round of the store then I leave & go somewhere else.
