CW Motormaster shoulder issue

Hi

I finally completed my CW Menasor and I've noticed wht i think is a flaw in the design of Motormaster's torso mode shoulders. They depend on a tiny piece of plastic on each shoulder pegging into small holes on what becomes Menasor's back. Problem is that the shoulder pegs pop out any time you rotate Menasor's ratcheting shoulder joint.

Does CW Optimus have this issue? (Let me know if pics will help clarify what I mean)

Anyone know of a fix (that doesn't involve drilling holes through the windvanes)?

The stunticons are all great separately, just not so hot when they are combined. Menasor is all wibbly, wobbly, difficult to stand, while Superion is altogether quite solid.

Re: CW Motormaster shoulder issue

I had the same problem.
on optimus, the problem doesn't exist.i think it's because of mold degradation already, coupled with cheap plastic.
it seems/feels like motormaster has cheaper plastic than prime does if that's even possible.(it really does feel cheaper than prime plastic lolz)
to fix my motormasters shoulders,i simply coated those two shoulder tabs in question with a thin coat of clear nail polish.
just make sure even though most clear nail polishes say "quick dry", let it dry completely for almost a day to fully harden and you should have no problem.
just don't "gob" it onto those tabs.

I've had this problem too. It was really annoying just trying to pose that shoulder.

I'm going to try that fix, thanks chans.

Nail polish idea worked somewhat the first time, but no longer.

I'm seeing the same thing between my Optimus and MM. MM seems to use a much softer plastic than Optimus, who is rock-solid in all modes. My MM seems to require quite a bit of "massaging" to get into truck-mode properly.

While the tabbing of the forearm for MM to Menasor mode is not loose by any means on mine, it's definitely a weaker join than on Optimus. With Optimus, I can take the combiner arm and spin it without worrying that Prime's forearm will pop out. With Menasor, it's about a 50/50 chance that it'll come loose. I've heard of others' MM's barely holding there in standard museum poses...

As an alternative to drilling holes - you can purchase these items from shapeways

https://www.shapeways.com/product/5R...-brace-cannons

The fit onto Menasor and help lock the shoulders in place.
They can be ordered in a variety of colors, and also mount on vehicle mode.

They can also be combined into a single weapon, or mounted on a sort of shoulder mounted 'backpack' for Dragstrip by using the hand/foot accessory.

Do they really look that pink under a flash? It seems like you have one shot there without a flash and it looks purple as intended.
