It really sucks because it really indicates how much they're pinching pennies on their products. But a cent is a cent. If you think about it, if the blue lights cost 1 cent more and there are (three?) in prime. That's three cents extra per toy. Doesn't sound like much but if you multiply that by a million toys, it's like 30 grand. Not much for a multimillion dollar company right? But that can be the cost of one person's salary. OR two executive lunches.

It could just come down to"We could buy blue lights, or we could use the 50,000 red and green we have sitting in that box over there"?

Re: ROTF Optimus lights color?

Hold up a sec.

Most of ROTF Prime's head is blue, especially around the eyes. When the eyes aren't lit up, they are also blue plastic.

You'd want to throw blue lights in there too? Unless they were super-bright, they'd be barely noticeable.

The green stands as a nice compliment to all the blue.

Maybe green lights was a cost-choice, but I suspect probably more of an aesthetic one.

A blue light is strong enough to show through. the other option is to use a white light as it could make that blue plastic brighter.

Re: ROTF Optimus lights color?

I tried to use a clear blue paint over the bulb in hopes it would change colour, but it didn't work
Oh well, i'll keep looking into it as well. Afterall, all the work I did on prime I might as well try to get the eyes too.

Re: ROTF Optimus lights color?

That's a nice updated paint job joshimus.

As said above, his eyes are blue and you wouldn't think much about it unless you activate the sound feature. It just is a very small annoyance that makes you wonder why it couldn't be done right. After all isn't this a hasbro property? If so, shouldn't they get their own stuff right?
