so, this afternoon i received the following email from TRU:

1. Please contact your credit card institution or issuing bank to verify that the billing information you provided us matches the information they have on file for you.
2. Please call our Customer Service Team at
(800) 869-7787 within 48 hours of receiving this email. We will then be able to update our records with the correct information and process your order.

I immediately phoned my card issuer and was told everything was fine on their end, so i called TRU customer service and asked a representative to look into this order, and after 10 minutes of holding time, i was told the order was canceled because they ran out of stock to fill all the pre-orders, they received an overwhelming amount of orders for this item and had to cancel the ones they weren't able to fulfill. the representative then wished me luck to find one in the stores and said there was nothing they could do regarding the order cancelation.
Finally i need to point out that i placed the order the morning of the following day that it appeared on the site (i think the posting first came up last wed or thurs evening? i can't recall, but i ordered it the next morning), and the figure is still listed on the site as of now taking in preorders.
