Re: Adult Lego Fans

Question for the other LEGO fans on this site. How do you store your LEGO? Specifically the more expensive licensed sets. Do you just toss it all into a bin, store them in the original box or bag them individually?

Any Vancouverites here who collect the mini figs wanna help a guy out? I'm not sure if my local spots ID the figures anymore, so I was hoping someone here had some extras, or would be willing to grab a few for me at some point in the future Feel free to PM me!

My expensive sets are put together and behind glass. I store my loost stuff in sorting type bins from the fishing tackle section in walmart. I actually just finished the tumbler from the first batmanseries. I do however still need to find the black windscreens(3) for Iit.

My sets are generally put together but placed in bins. I don't have enough room to display them all. As for the boxes I fit as many of them inside each other as I can to conserve space. What I have out right now is the Millennium Falcon, Tantive V, Slave 1, Luke's X-Wing, Arc Fighter and The Black Pearl.

Well, when moving from my parent's house I went temporarily insane and disassembled EVERYTHING and put it all loose into large plastic cargo bins.

DO NOT DO THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At least go to the dollar store or bulk barn or something and get a bunch of plastic bags. Keep the sets separate.

I started sorting in January and I'm STILL only halfway through one of the bins. Only way to sort the sets is to build them.

Right now I want to go back in time and junk-punch my past self before I stored them like this. And then throw a bunch of zip-lock bags at my past self's head.

Ouch. I can't imagine that'd be so bad for a couple $25 sets but I doubt that's what you're talking about. I tend to disassemble my sets by bag number and then I label the bags for ease of reassembly later on. One or two larger sets (1500+ piece range), I've made my own bag numbers because some sets only have two or three numbered bags per set.

I've bagged mine in bundles with similar sets (ie. Battle for Hoth, Rebel Snowspeeder and the small Rebel and Snowtrooper packs or a Tie fighter with Tie Defender and Vader's Tie Advanced X1).
