photobucket gripe
more of a rant.
everytime i finally start getting used to whatever format photobucket changes to,they up and change it.
i personally find it more of a p.i.t.a. now to use, hell,i can't even crop the pics the way i want anymore, restricted to their set templates.
it doesn't help that i'm not the greatest at computer stuff either, which frustrates me that much more everytime i finally figure out how to use the dang site .
anyone else in the same boat?
i may try to sign up for flicker, but quick question for those of you who use flicker.
is it more shall we say "stupid simple" than photobucket is now?

Re: photobucket gripe
Oh Hell yeah.
I normally don't care about user surveys, but with this new Photobucket change, I've taken every opportunity to voice my dissatisfaction.
Everything now is not intuitive, and it's padded up with WAY too much crap that I don't care for. I just need a reliable place to store pictures and give me links to post on forums that's not padded up with web-based photo-editors (I have PhotoShop installed for a reason) or integration with Facebook/Twitter/social stuff (none of which I have nor care for).

Re: photobucket gripe
Chyeah mates, I loathe all of it.
I was trying to upload some pictures the other day and simply couldn't be assed. It's so much of a hassle! I don't need a blinged out site, i don't need all these options. Give me the old school black screen with the "upload" button and that will be sufficient.
It's like the psn store, haven't used it since they updated it...

Re: photobucket gripe
I'm not as familiar with it as the majority but I downloaded the mobile app andiit's a little tricky to use. I'm getting better at it, but it could definitely be better.

Re: photobucket gripe
The new design sucks lol.
The compression software they have also degrades the pics, I took a direct comparison of flickr and photobucket (same pic) and switched to flickr

Re: photobucket gripe
Ya, when they do the switch over, I'm going to check out Flickr. I lost my mind when they had switched me to the beta.

Re: photobucket gripe
I've been a flickr user since '04.
The layout is simple, clean, and organized. The browser-based organizing tool is very easy to use and makes organizing a breeze. However, they did recently change their browser-based picture editing tool (Aviary) that is still in need of some work. I personally don't use it, but last I checked it wasn't even able to do cropping.
I have to add that I am a pro user (yearly subscription) so I do have some perks that are not available to unsubscribed users. I don't know if it's still the same, but the monthly limit for non-subscribing users is only 300mb. And you are limited to seeing only the last 200 pictures in your photostream (basically where you store your photos). The older ones are not lost, it's still there when you upgrade to pro, but unless you do so, you won't be able to see them. There's some resolution limitations as well, but it's more than enough if you are only going to be posting them on forums.

Re: photobucket gripe
Still using Photobucket, yeah it a pain when they change it, I guess there following microsoft.
I resise my photos before I upload them, with my Canon camera software. Saves me time and is quicker. You can always change the size in your camera before you shoot too, if this helps.
There are free resizes on the web
