Why Animated should not be compared to Armada, Energon, Cybertron

The Transformers series of: RID, Armada, Energon, and Cybertron are ANIME. They are anime in every since of the word. These 4 transformers series are made by the Japanese for the Japanese market. Then later on, it gets to here in North America and get dubbed over. That’s why the story lines are very long and full of history episodes. To us that may seams like full of bad writing, but in Japan, it’s brilliant. That is what they like over there. The RID and A-E-C are Anime to the fullest and have the same story fell as the likes of Dragonball Z or Sailor Moon or Robotech, etc…. Those whom watches anime and goes to anime conventions should understand what I’m talking about.

Storylines like the majority of G1, beast wars, and now Animated as well as the movie. Are not anime in terms of story lines. They are written by Americans for the American market. So they would appeal more to us. That’s why Majority of us here likes G1 and Beast wars better then the RID or A-C-E.

The new Transformers Animated are written by Americans. And trust me when I say this. The writers did do their homework. The Show are written to appeal more to the American market then the Japanese market. However, The show is also written for children. So it is less appealing to the fans of moving on to their 30’s and more. The TF Animated have the same fell as TMNT or Teen Titans.

So in short, Comparing TF animated to A-E-C, is like comparing apples to oranges. You can do it, just not a good idea.

peace

I don't know, but in BW "the story lines are very long and full of history episodes".

Yeah, we should compare it to Teen Titans

Isn't there a name for cartoons that are supposed to imitate anime? The shows Powerpuff Girls and Teen Titans come to mind.

Being a very big fan of anime, the AEC storylines still sucked, I don't mean they were bad Transformers series, just bad shows in general.

While I agree that Animated is far better than the joke that was A/E/C (gave us some great toys, though) they are not good animes.

They're ridiculously dumbed down and the dialog is pitful at points. GOOD animes (the few that there are, unfortunately) don't have poor animation, sub-standard stories or poor dialog.

Animated is the single best series all-round since BW.

Yeah, you can't compare them because to start with, A-E-C had uber poor writing and terrible animation (especially the last 2 shows with the fugly 3D). A bad story, even after being translated, is still a bad story.

Because it came from Japan doesn't mean it was superior. They sure produce tons of crappy shows and crappy toys. That Anime snobbery is getting a bit annoying.

Objects of the same type with, ideally, one differing characteristic. Presumably.
