Re: Target sale

They were installing the yellow and black liquidation banners about an hour ago from what i saw - fine print message about the sale, like "final sale", which credit cards and payment methods are acceptable, etc. Didn't see the pricing signs on my way out. But did overhear electronics sales person say to a customer it's only 5% off electronics and the customer complained it's still cheaper at Walmart.

Re: Target sale

They have an obligation to their creditors to stagger the sales to obtain as much money as possible from the stock.

As time goes the discounts will get deeper and deeper.

Re: Target sale

It doesn't help that target sold all of the stock to a liquidation company (just like Zellers did) and that company raised prices 10-15% before the liquidation started just like they did with Zellers, remember the $24.99 deluxes at Zellers because I sure the hell do. You are still paying More than retail in most cases but there will be some exceptions. Just remember to be nice to the employees because they won't have their jobs much longer and they have no control over priced as they are not owned by target any more.

Re: Target sale

Yeah a later report said the maximum discount to start will be 30%, but most items will be less.

Re: Target sale

But it's 30% off increased regular prices, here won't be any real liquidation prices til the 60-70% discount but by then there won't be much left because most people are dumb and don't know the actual price of items before the liquidation came into effect and think they're getting a great deal of 10% off of an item that was 20% more expensive than it was a month ago.

Re: Target sale

Visited target yesterday had full cw line legends to voyagers I'm sure they are probably gone bye now. It was at center point mall. But the shelves were fully stocked with a bunch of toys. Might be lucky to find any cw figure at a good price if they have any left.

Yeah I was trying to explain to people (family, friends) that the opening "deals" in liquidation are generally in the opposite direction and they just stare at me in baffled, oblivious confusion.

"How could they be more expensive if it is liquidation?"

Bleh, that kinds sucks.
Considering their CW TFs are $35 and $20 for Voyagers and Deluxes respectively, that brings it down to $31.50 and $18.

Even after those discounted prices, I'm still better off just getting Takara's superior-Superion boxset.
