Re: Do you know how to Transform your Transformers?

Sometimes I forget a step or two and have to reference youtube. But generally if I need to I can figure things out again without help.

Re: Do you know how to Transform your Transformers?

I almost never need the instructions to transform my bots usally when I buy a new bot I transform it using the photo on the card/box if I get stuck I use the instructions (I find that they can be confusing sometimes steps not clearly informative or showen properly in some instances of late) the ones I do find hard and usally need the instructions for were the Bianaltech/alterity line as they do bust easily

Re: Do you know how to Transform your Transformers?

I'd be surprised if I could transform even half of them. With the complexity of them today, I need instructions and sometimes a video.

I'm usually good with Scouts, Legends and G1 though.

Re: Do you know how to Transform your Transformers?

I find that with most of my Hasbro stuff I can transform with no problems. It goes into my hand and my system kicks off and it's done.

But with my 3rd party stuff I still need a manual and a video from youtube to get by.

Re: Do you know how to Transform your Transformers?

Thanks to my childhood, I can transform any and every beast wars figure.

As for my collection, if I've transformed it once then I'm sure I can figure it out excluding maybe Terradive because I know there's something tricky in his transformation but I can't remember what it is, as well as anything that came packaged in robot mode because I didn't transform them ever.

Re: Do you know how to Transform your Transformers?

Transformers are complex gems when it comes to toys, it is fun making something turn into something else. There has never been an incident where I completely forgot how to transform a figure, there have been the occasional steps.

Cybertron Unicron: I forgot how to get the arms into vehicle mode and thus snapped one of them off at the hinge thank to my stubborn refusal to reference the instructions.

RID Landfill: Combining is simple with Grimlock as the arms, but since I rarely put him into his other two arm configurations I had to reference the instructions to get Hightower into the arm mode.

There are probably others, but since i haven't pulled any of the older stuff out of storage recently, save for RID, I can't really comment on them.

That being said however, I can go five years without touching a toy and once it's out of storage I'll still remember how he transforms, it's partially memory, but I think muscle memory might play a small part of it too. Your hands just know where the pieces go to make the robot.

Even when I had them I didn't have too much trouble with the Alternators, but I still didn't like them because they were more complex than they needed to be IMO for plastic toys. Well engineered, great for display, but no fun to play with.

Some of them, others stay in robot mode.

Re: Do you know how to Transform your Transformers?

Unless it's something truly ridiculous, like RotF Prime and Jetfire combined mode, or RotF Mixmaster, I generally don't need help. I guess sitting and refusing to use instruction on the RID line helped prepare me for the movie-verse stuff.
