that flame sword looks awesome. I see people using it in Dino mode too for his mouth
I'm not sure yet how I feel about it. I think it is because it looks obviously rubber, while the toy itself looks more metallic. It sort of spoils the illusion that Grimlock is a real miniature badass robot and so the sword screams toy. That probably sounds stupid.

I will try it in Dino mode soon. I feel like this is one MP figure that I will play with often. Most I have only transformed once. But this old school style MP seems sturdier than MP 10 and on.

Quakewave has to be handled to be fully appreciated. His heft and his joints are just pleasing. He has a real tactile enjoyment, as well as a MP aesthetic.

Re: The Masterpiece Appreciation and Speculation Thread

I don't like categorizing 3rd Party figures with the MP line at all but if any figure is of MP quality, it would be Quakewave. Of course he isnt cheap but the materials reflect the price. FansToys has certainly raised the bar. I just wish he was a darker purple.

Re: Dr. Wu Partners. I'll post a few pics soon of my setup soon. Those little guys are so worth it. I got mine from chimungmung.

Quakewave does look nice. Any idea if FansToys will re-re-re-release him? I might actually drop some cash on it this time around.

I keep him in a jar bedside so I can admire the work of art.

Lol, whenever I look at that it reminds me of that G1 episode, "Child's Play" where both the Autobots and Decepticons were stuck in some alien world and were treated like toys.

That's kind of awesome.

I've thought about looking into display cases since I saw one guy use a glass football case to showcase three MP Datsuns and their corresponding G1 figures in vehicle mode. Not everything I have fits in a Detolf.

Re: The Masterpiece Appreciation and Speculation Thread

Good news guys. Looks like Hasbro MP Grimlock reissue is tentatively priced at $59.99 US. Saw a post on TFW with photo. Check it out. Very good pricing outlook for Canada.
