Re: The Masterpiece Appreciation and Speculation Thread
I got my Soar today and I had a huge issue with it. When I tried to close up the chest, one side wouldn't close and I couldn't see why. I removed the 2 screws holding the wings on the back and pulled them off, then finally spotted the problem. One of the screws on the wings wasn't screwed in all the way and the back of the chest was hitting it when trying to slide sideways. I screwed it in the rest of the way and problem solved. I don't think I should have had to do this with a $250 figure though.
Also one of the wings is totally floppy and loose while the other is tight. It's almost like this figure was taken apart to be fixed, then put back in the box and resold.

Actually MP Magnus also came in today but he's for another board member. I was blown away when I saw a video review so I can not wait to see him unboxed!

I'd like to hear your feedback on Goatwave, DuG. Any thoughts on the figure or the cassettes?

Thanks man. I got them from cyberspace But you might better know it as, eBay. $6 for a 5 metre reel. I provided some details in this thread, specifically post #22. Total cost was maybe $120 for 6 Detolfs plus lots of extra parts left over. I ain't gonna lie. It was a big pain, but worth it.

My first impression of the figure and the cassettes was that it looked amazing in person! All of Goatwave's joints are nice and tight but not overly tight, the plastic feels strong and not brittle at all, the paint apps are fantastic, the bronze is better looking in person. The cassettes are alright, not enough differentiating colour between them as it's really hard to tell the difference between Laserbeak and Buzzsaw. Frenzy and Rumble are hard to tell apart as well aside from having blue or red strips on the arms. The deting of the YOTG badges are great. From a distance you cann't really tell the difference between the clear and grey plastic of the cassettes as they just look all grey but up close they look amazing.
Overall I'm very happy with Goatwave and can't stop looking at and playing with him.

Cool thanks for the comments. Btw, is that Skywarp stand from Walwarp? Or is that the KO stand? Looks awesome.

Thanks! The stand and missiles are from an extra Walwarp I picked up.
MP 11SW surprised me as all of his joints are nice and tight and doesn't have loose tail wings that the mold is known for. My only issue is that on both of my Skywarp's heads are spru marks and one has some red paint on the top of his head.

That layer of paint helps the tail fins not to flop. Same observation on my MP-11S vs Hasbro Sunstorm.
So I put in my YOTH matrix into MP Ultra Magnus and it fit perfect. But it just didn't feel right to me.
He doesn't deserve it
I like the figure but the scale is throwing me off. He's just massive and over shadows my other MPs. Not necessarily in a good way.

Re: The Masterpiece Appreciation and Speculation Thread
I completely appreciate that UM doesn't deserve the matrix. It makes sense. It's a little like the situation where we have all been waiting for a decent decepticon leader for some time, and yet Starscream has been around for years. He is 2nd in command. He would be a logical choice. Somehow, he just isn't leader of the decepticons same a Magnus can't lead the autobots.
