TFcon Toronto is less than a week away and now is the perfect time to find a group for the Faction Feud. Hence this thread which is designed to help inform you about the Faction Feud and facilitate people looking for a group to play with.
What is the Faction Feud?
The Faction Feud is a game show style event where two(2) teams of four(4) player compete in trivia questions against each other. The event is run as a tournament with the winners of each match proceeding to the next level until only the final two teams are left to face off and a winner is declared.
What are the rules?
One(1) member from each team meet at the podium to answer a trivia question.
The player with answer that is highest on the board gets to decide whether their team plays or pass.
Play means their team members take turns trying to give the rest of answers to the question.
Pass means that the other team is forced to play that question.
Each wrong answer is a strike. After getting three(3) strikes, the other team gets one chance to give a correct answer and steal the points.
If the other team answers correctly, they steal the points and win that round. If not, the first team gets it.
Players can not consult with each other on their answers, except when they have the opportunity to steal.
What kind of trivia questions will there be?
It will be all kinds of Transformers-related trivia ranging from cartoons, comics, movies, toys, and more. Questions are designed to be accessible, yet challenging.
Who can play?
Anybody can play. Provided that you will be in attendance at TFcon Toronto 2015 at the applicable place and time.
Where is it?
Hazel McCallion ABCD, Hilton Mississauga/Meadowvale, 6750 Mississauga Road, Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.
When is it?
8PM Saturday, July 18th, 2015.
How do I register?
The official registration board will(most likely) be available in the panel room, the same room as the Faction Feud. Get there early and sign up your team name and members to ensure your chance to participate. If there are too many teams, there will be a cut off. Traditionally, 8 teams is usually the cut off due to time restraints.
How long does it take to play Faction Feud?
A typical match of Faction Feud may take anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes. If 8 teams are playing, that would mean it would take about 2 or 3 hours to complete the full event.
I want to play, but I don't have a team. How do I get one?
This is the perfect place for you. Post in this thread that you are looking for group and hope that someone will ask you to be on their team. Or take the initiative and ask other people who are also looking for a group to join you.
I have a group, now what?
If you already have a group, congratulations! Post your team name and members in this thread. This would help the staff anticipate how many people are hoping to participate, but also helps to avoid the awkward situation of having 2 teams with the same name. Please keep your team names respectful as there may be children in the audience.
I don't want to play, but I can I still come and watch?
Yes! Please come and watch. Half the fun is the crowd cheering you on. Just please don't shout out answers to the questions because we will have to disqualify that answer, which hurts the players score.
