Re: Never ordered from Japan before. Advice?
BBTS means (I think) UPS or Fedex. UPS sucks wookie. Fed Ex' slogan...The World On Time or "TWOT" pretty much says it all. In my experience, a person looking for the highest total cost should buy from BBTS.
My info maybe stale though because I have not shopped US retailers since the repeated wallet-rapes of my Binaltech collecting days.

Always go with JPY if CND is not available. Hell, sometimes if it is. The exchange rate is better than making it USD. Even though you would think it's the same, it isn't.

Use JPY, it will be cheaper when you let Paypal do the conversion than if you let NY's website do it.

This, my last order from BBTS was for the CW stuff we don't seem to be getting. I got Onslaught, Leader Skywarp, Sky Lynx, and the Shockwave legends wave. It was like 136 USD or something, then the switch to Canadian made it almost 200 dollars. THEN FUCKING DUTY which was 38 or 40 dollars.
Avoid BBTS like they have the plague, they are terrible.

Re: Never ordered from Japan before. Advice?
BBTS is great, if you don't have to ship internationally. I use them for a lot of domestic stuff that I'm uncertain will see a local retail release. Of course, I live really close to the US border so I can have parcels delivered to the US close to the border and go across myself. Depending on overall value, I pay taxes about half the time, but never have to deal with duties or brokerage.
For all Takara releases (other than exclusives), I use AE or HLJ in Japan. It's the only way to go (as in ordering direct from Japan, whichever Etailer is your prefered store to deal with).

Ha! I don't know about trying to start a fight, but in fairness you are often the perpetual Devil's Advocate on this site! I think the comment was meant to be fairly light-hearted.

Re: Never ordered from Japan before. Advice?
i have a question about shipping, usually for the same product, which one cost cheaper between NY and AE? For instance, the recent mp lines, how much did it cost to ship hot rod, shockwave etc from AE?

Re: Never ordered from Japan before. Advice?
From cheapest to most expensive shipping:
HLJ/Amiami
AE
NY
But usually cheapest to most expensive item:
NY
AE
HLJ/Amiami
Here are some quick calculations for MP-32 I did over on the BC thread:
HLJ: 9,600JPY plus 1,290JPY = 10,890JPY
AA: 8,990JPY plus 995JPY = 9,985 JPY
NY: 8,280JPY plus 1,740JPY = 10,020JPY
The 1,740 is SAL registered with N-Y website. I'm taking 1,290 for HLJ as that's the amount for shipping Tracks SAL registered. For AA I'm using the amount I paid for MP-27 Ironhide for the SAL registered small packet.

Re: Never ordered from Japan before. Advice?
Cool thx, basically the final price is close to each other except Hlj. But for the shipping u estimate, isn't ironhide box bigger than tracks? So Hlj shipping will b slightly more. Aa shipping seems really good, I remember paying 1540yen for a smaller hot rod from ny.Do u have an estimation from ae?
