Drinking and purchasing Transformers ?
Hmmm...
I got an Energon limb in package; it's yours for only 200$.
What's this? You took another drink? Make that 300$.

Yes and no. There are products that are being imported into Canada in English only packaging even today. However, this hurts the ability to sell it at Quebec retail. How this will ultimately effect collectors will need to be investigated.

That's because most of that $20 is Tax. Canada tax heavily on alcohol drinks. unlike the US.

Without getting too political here toys don't have nearly as much tax as booze on the importing end. Really prices haven't changed no matter the US exchange-be it 60% a few years back to 10% now. Right now we're just getting fleeced a bit, hopefully this will slowly correct itself if our dollar stays high. This merger itself likely wont effect prices.

And those liquor taxes go to help support Hospitals, Schools and other Infastructure. In MB the MLCC makes enough profit to run most of the Provinces Hospitals single handed-so atleast the extra tax is going to good causes.

Booze was a bad example, MRSP values are screwing us at the moment.

Other examples such as the cost of food are also much more cheaper in the States (and not only fast food prices, since we all know how dirt cheap those are).

I'm not sure how this is really going to effect us yet. I'm assuming the online stores will likely merge... but other than that... I don't know. We will just have to wait and see.

I bet the only reason they did this is because the Cdn Dollar is now at par with the US.

Don't care why they're doing it, as long as it mean the Canadian side of TRU.ca gets friggin' updated dammit! I see lotta toys in stores that arent even online... or I know some toys are for sale, but they dont have it online... they're online crew should get kick in the balls and should friggin' update the site.

I sure hope they'll ship to Québec then I'm tired of missing out on stuff because of the tri-lingual packaging.

My friend used to work in Toys'R'Us and he received stuff sometimes that had no French packaging and some retards always managed to lodge a complaint... result, they had to send everything back.
