Yeah that's what I'm wondering... whether or not this is actually a new price for that size class, or if Amazon themselves are also just sort of taking advantage of pre-order and/or limited stock hype and jacking the price temporarily simply because they can.


I know their prices constantly fluctuate with other items, but they're usually within cents or a few dollars of each - just never seen THIS kind of crazy jump before. Curious if that's a normal thing for Transformers sold by them or if it's a new thing.

It's just Amazon pricing. They've done this with a few figures. The price will go back down if they get more stock.

Hasbro is not going to jump the price of a leader by $20 in the middle of a line.

Figured as much, but good to have to confirmed by someone more in the know. Mainly because if this SS Sludge pre-order goes as expected, I'll likely move more TF purchasing to Amazon in the future.

I wouldn't recommend relying on Amazon.ca for any preorders. Tons of preorders go unfulfilled or get cancelled for no reason. GameStop is definitely the safer bet. Amazon US might be a little more reliable. Depends how the pricing lines up after exchange as to whether or not it's worth ordering there.

Just got Legacy core class Shockwave from amazon.ca. Yes they actually shipped a new Transformers in the estimated time and I received it. I am shocked.

Well the only other pre-order I had with them was Kickback (for $33.99 before they raised it to $44.99) and it was delivered right on schedule, so no complaints yet. Guess we'll see how this SS Sludge pre-order slated for Monday goes, though.

There are times Amazon's own price is goofy. I wouldn't read into it as an upcoming twenty dollar price hike.

Generally I would agree but in these crazy times, I don't discount anything!

Yeah, hopefully it will be okay. Usually exclusives are more of a problem. But there are members whose Motormaster preorders are getting canceled, so you never know. I also received my Legacy Wave 1 stuff without issues, but I've had problems with other stuff in the past. Just want to make sure people are aware that Amazon can't necessarily be trusted to fulfill orders.
