Problems with Rippersnapper

Twice now I've bought a POTP Rippersnapper only to find that his robot legs don't peg together properly in monster mode. Has anyone else experienced this issue recently?

Re: Problems with Rippersnapper

I posted about this two days ago:

http://www.cybertron.ca/boards/showthread.php?t=72931
and WereDragon linked to the first time it was mentioned in the Alberta Sightings thread as well.

It's the blue pegs that connect the back of his knees (ish) to the outer "shell" of the "boot"
When converting to shark mode, those pegs go into a certain groove in the shell - but the groove is not deep enough, so the pegs don't go in all the way, which prevents the shell from tabbing properly.

I had success shaving off a millimetre or two off the pegs with an exacto-knife, holds together fine in both modes

Mine specifically looked to be cut at an angle so I just evened them out with a nail file.

Seems it did. I just filed a small amount at a time until they were even and gave a secure connection.

Yeah, at least it’s an easy fix that works well in both modes.

No problem. I figured a metal nail file would allow a it to be shortened in smaller increments then a knife. Plus I am just accident prone so I would have likey cut myself or cut too much off. As far as quality issues go it was a minor fix.

My Generations Arcee I got in the same week had a fractured and bent heel right in the unopened package. I couldn't fix the bend fully but I at least was able to repair the break and gap by using a heated nail to melt and shape the plastic.

With my luck I even got an AOE voyager Slog with a shoulder that missed the pin hole completely. My brother had to cut off the should pad to get that bugger fixed.

You know, if the issue isn't too widespread (unlike this Rippersnapper problem), then you could have just returned or exchanged those figures.
