Figure if I need to convert him I'll need at least 6 ounces of iced bourbon to calm me down, or I can just make the "chee choo choo chee choo" noise and whip out the pistol that came with MP Soundwave and call it a day.

Pretty much that lol

With all the pieces included with MP Inferno and Grapple I was wondering how you have displayed them. Which head/face, grill and hands have you chosen? Personally I like cartoon accuracy that that changes a lot.

Looking at the pics of the just announced MP Sunstreaker. I like some of the gimmicks like the gun storage and real car/animated car looks

Re: The Masterpiece Appreciation and Speculation Thread

So glad I didn't have the money to buy the different 3rd party versions of Sunstreaker with that new official version coming! I like the gun storage in the leg and how you can change the back of the car from animated to real car. I think I'll still refrain from buying 3rd party cars as Takara is apparently willing to do them all.

$120 for Sunstreaker? Is Takara drunk? They're just reusing most of the same mould that was $60 a few years ago.

No, it's $160 CDN for a car that was between $40-50 CDN. Get your numbers straight!

As I understand it, the official announcement won't come until June and the MSRP along with it. Apparently, BBTS lists a made-up preorder price of an item to net some fish prior to the actual price being known and may lower the price where appropriate (unless people actually buy at the inflated made-up pre-order price - if I was a retailer, I'd be hesitant to lower it after that).

In all likelihood, this toy will retail on the Japanese sites for somewhere between 7,000 to 10,000 JPY and the preorders will offer the usual 30% discount.

Given the current strength of the yen against the CAD though, even with the 30% the Japanese retailers may not be significantly cheaper than domestic ones like those listed to the right of this page.

Be patient, the months of June (and maybe July) will be the foreign pre-order window for Sunstreaker.

Re: The Masterpiece Appreciation and Speculation Thread

Keep in mind the older MP cars were cheaper because they didn't come all those accessories we got now. My guess is MP Sunstreaker will have similar Japanese MSRP as MP-28 which is the most expensive MP car so far. It's shouldn't cost more than MP-27/30 given its size even including the accessories.

It's a completely different mold.
