From my experience if you order from AE or Nippon Yasan, you probably won't get ding by custom as those two stores put down a pretty low value on the package. You may get dinged if you order from HLJ or ami-ami as they usually put down a precise value on the custom form. If you get dinged by SAL/EMS it's usually around 12% of declared value plus a handling fee which is usually $9.99, but I have seen as low as $5 and as high as $15 for the handling fee depending on the shipping service. Custom brokerage fee would be much higher if you ship by UPS/FedEx etc.

It should actually be GST plus PST based on current value at time of receipt by CBA (i believe) plus $10 handling fee. Though my last item to get dinged only had GST plus handling fee.

A-E shows lower value so risk of getting dinged and if dinged lower GST/PST calculation

N-Y always shows 20 yen so never a risk of getting dingee

Does the microscope actually "work"? Just wondering if my young daughter can use it to view things propertly, or is it just a gimmick that is just there but cannot actually be used in any useful manner due to bad focusing, blurry image, dark, blurry edges, etc.
