Daniel takes the hosting seat in the this episode devoted to an extensive discussion on "knock off" Transformers. Why do they exist? How are they made? Are they good or bad for the fandom? All this will be answered and more! There's also coverage on the latest chapter in the Transformers universe, the newly revealed video game War for Cybertron. This week's getting to know features a fan favourite, the Dinobot leader Grimlock and his many incarnations. Finally a personal What the hell were they thinking?! story about the stupid things Duncan and Chris do for a DVD.

Episode 21 - Knock it Off Host: Daniel (Protoman) w/ Chris (GMfan101), Duncan (dak), Mike (Aernaroth)
- The War for Cybertron
- Knock-offs, Why do they exist? Are they good or are they bad for the brand and the fandom? Any particularly interesting knockoffs you've found or stories to share? (for Ultra Primal)
- Getting to know Grimlock (for TMIIWonkoNemesis)
- What the hell were they thinking?! when Duncan and Chris drove to the states for the stupid big screen edition of ROTF on it's release date?!
Great episode guys, although this would have been the perfect episode to get Guber on.
I only have a few knock-offs. I have a G1 Devastator knock-off. 2, actually. 1 looks just like G1, and the other is all different colors which I started repainting into "Canadian Constructicons" a few years back and still haven't bothered finishing. Here's a few pics of the ones I've done:
Bonecrusher
Mixmaster
Scrapper
I'll have to try and find them and finish them for TFCon.
I also have a Defensor who looks G1 except Hot Spot is red instead of blue for some reason. And latest one I've gotten, and the reason I wanted to discuss knock-offs is a weird remold of G2 Megatron. Virtually everything on him has been remolded, his legs even transform differently. I'll have to take some pics of him as well. Interesting story behind him. He's a cake topper. And the same company that sells him also has the Transformers license for official Transformers brand movie cake deco kits. They have a little transforming movie Optimus toy for the 1st film and a pair of Optimus and Bumblebee figurines(they basically look like the keychains except ofcourse the keychain part itself and zero articulation) for ROTF. So in a roundabout way this is kind of an official toy. Or not.
Also, damn you Duncan and Chris! I wanted the WalMart version of ROTF. And Hardhead. I don't get it, why did we get MP Skywarp and ROTF Skywarp and Ramjet, but not the Universe Ultras or the WM version of ROTF with the IMAX footage? Next time you're down there pick me up a copy and a Hardhead, and maybe a Skyjack if he's on sale.
Thanks guys, now I am throughly educated on Grimlock and now made a list on which versions I will get.
lol,Canadian Slag Theatre:Featuring Dak and GMFan...awesome!
I thought of one more while I was editing... WST Grimlock, now it's not technically official (made by Justitoys) but it is a Grimlock nevertheless...
As for "Canadian Slag Theatre"....I thought that was every episode :P

Dude, finish those, they look pretty good so far and as Daniel said I like that they have your little insignia on them.
As for going to the States again Duncan and I don't really do that often as we both live an hour from the boarder. I dunno why we haven't gotten those Ultras yet...I just have a feeling either we won't get them at all or they'll suddenly pop up at Square One WM on clearance :P
