Re: Mirror, Mirror...
Love the last picture!
I was taken with this idea as well at TFcon, particularly this Megatron done in Ultra Magnus colours, you did a great job!

I found if you hit the wet paint with a blowdryer on high it smooths out the paint and no orange peel effect.
See here for the turnout.

i also like the happy medium you chose of outlining the windows with the blue instead of trying to turn them clear blue which may have resulted in clear purple windows
keep'em coming!!!

Thanks! Yeah, I decided against the original idea mostly to give some red accents to break up the blue and white. This seemed the easiest solution, but damn it took a ton of tape to get done.

I will have to try that out on a junker and see how it turns out. Thanks for the tip. Any amount of time that you blow dry it for, or just long enough to make the paint spread out?

(this works for spray painting not brush method)You will know how long by the way the paint looks, it goes from being kinda dull to shiny. you should see the change after 10-15 seconds. Any longer wont hurt unless you keep the blowdryer in one spot.

Re: Mirror, Mirror...
Looks good. Executed well too!
I find that the krylon fusion for plastic is less than stellar. I just use the regular stuff and it seems to cover better it stick to plastic just fine.

Re: Mirror, Mirror...
So would this mirror Megatron have originally been inspired by Megabolt or Megaplex?
I wonder.
Kickass job. Though I do think the vehicle mode could use a few more of those blue highlights from the original sketches you had. The big blob of white in the middle just looks like it needs something to break it up.
