Re: Will you see The Last Knight?

I'll see it on the weekend. Previews look great, just like all the other ones before this. But the last two films were terrible. Both were written by the same people, so I'm not surprised. This Last Knight movie has new writers, so my hope is high that it will be great. Michael Bay is fantastic and has been for all the TF films. Don't know why he gets the hate. He doesn't write the scripts, and it's the writing that made the last couple movies bad (in my opinion).

So you don't understand how filmmaking works. K.

I'll watch it in the VIP theatre, where I can drink heavily to make it through the thing.

Funny, I was to say that YOU (and many others, apparently) seem to think Bay wrote the movies and designed the robots himself from A to Z.

This and this.
Unless TLK miraculously gets a fresh rating (which we know it won't), I'm sitting this one out too.

Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me with four garbage sequels...probably shame on me again but you get the idea.

I'll take the naive road, and say I assume if the storyline is weak, it's the storywriter that is to blame. What role did Bay have on that? And also, what did Bay do to make the films bad (to some people)? My understanding was that he was and is known for great action scenes - which all the TF movies have. I generally don't hear anyone ever complaining about the action, or scenery, and special effects of his movies.

If he's directing from a script and the script is weak, why don't the script writers get the hate? Just like if viewers don't like the costume designs of a movie, or the music, or even the robot CGI designs of these movies - shouldn't the people who worked on these elements be blamed? They were the experts chosen to to create the best for these movies.

I'm not an expert in the film-making process, so maybe someone can explain how much weight each person (or group of people) carries for their role in a 'bad' movie vs. Blaming it all on the director?
