KO/CHMS vs Takara/Botcon
I have always wondered about this, and I don't know if CHMS figures like Seekers or any other figures for that matter are the same thing as the original Henkei figures? Like for example the Rainmakers CHMS are they as good as the original ones? Do they have any flaws? besides being less expensive, I've heard that the paint apps are a bit off and that they tend to be more loose. I am looking to get KO/CHMS Sunstorm (Yellow or Orange), Hotlink, Blistream.

Re: KO/CHMS vs Takara/Botcon
Generally, I expect about 85% the official toy from a KO. Whether original or KO, they all have flaws. I don't have any set of those 3 so don't know their specific quality. By the way, where did you get your Sig pic?

Having seen a review on CHMS, my understanding is they're on par with the original mold, but actually cost a premium.
If ever you're unsure about an item, just search for it on Youtube and watch a couple reviews.

besides some being quite loose in the joint areas, the only main issue I've seen or experienced is the clear versions of starscream or voyager optimus having their joints/hinges crumble...

I don't have those ko's so I can't really comment.
I do know from a fellow local collector that has the skywarp and thundercracker ones that the arm cannons fall off easily if you look at them funny.
he did however fix that issue with clear nail polish on the posts.
his only other gripe was how the hinges that are used to transform the wings seem delicate/more fragile than the authentic versions...

Yeah, I am planning on replacing those HUGE RIDICULOUS Null Ray's with the 3rd party Null Ray's from Dr.Wu, so it should fix the problem whether I get the KO or the Botcon

Re: KO/CHMS vs Takara/Botcon
I have a CHMS Skywarp and Sunstorm. They quality is not the same as the official ones.
The plastic is good, but the tolerances are off. You can feel the heft in the plastic but it still feels off, like... like when someone puts on a few too many coats of paint.
To me it feels like they made the plastic thicker to compensate for the crappy tolerances. You can force things without breaking them.
My Skywarp has two left fists, and a lot of things don't fit flush. I think one of the feet doesn't fold all the way down.
Personally, I paid around $15-$20 each, and that was pushing it for me. I wouldn't pay any more, that is unless you really really need a shot of plastic crack.
Also there's the chance Has/Tak could do an new deluxe G1 seeker design in the future.
