hi all, inspired by echotransformer's FOC bruticus upgrades, i have started to play around with 3d printing since may 2013. starting off with simple stuff, i hope to create a bunch of upgrade parts for transformers toys new and old. some will address real issues, some will improve aesthetics, some will be abit of both, and some will be for really obscure and rare toys of which some of you may go "WTF?"
anyways, onto my first and shameless shapeways design: a pair of more realistic looking smokestacks for classics prime, to replace the odd-looking smokestack gun in vehicle mode. while my pair of smokestacks do not form into a gun like the original does, it can be attached to the back of the shoulders in robot mode by plugging into the screwholes, to give prime a bit more of a G1 feel.
also looks great when combined with the Xovergen Trailerforce Masterarmor to form your 3rd party powermaster optimus prime/super ginrai.
Tested and recommended material is WSF polished. I have tested the smokestacks on the following toys:
- takara henkei convoy
- hasbro SDCC exclusive nemesis prime
- hasbro classics ultra magnus
so it should work across the board on all legit and official classics prime molds.
HOWEVER, the smokestacks
cannot be used between legit molds and KO molds due to different peg sizes. The pegs will be too loose on the KO's.
