Re: Transformers R.E.D. (Robot Enhanced Design) Wave 1 released in Canada

I'll wait for a sale to grab a Soundwave lol. I wanted these before, but I'd rather put $30 towards a Marvel Legends.

I really wanted to like these as a lower-cost option to get animation-model style characters, especially when they don't necessarily have a good figure in recent lines.

but $30 for something that seems to be of extremely sketchy quality in addition to the crap distribution (I have yet to even see one in the wild)? Easy pass.

They couldn't even give Optimus a Matrix chamber. He's just got it sitting behind his windshield. Sure, Earthrise Optimus also doesn't have a Matrix chamber, but that figure transforms.

Thanx for your input everyone on these figures. Gonna steer clear of these I think by the sounds of it. I too have not seen these in stores yet & I hunt quite often. I might check them out if I do find them but ya $30-40 for shampoo bottle articulation is not how I can justify spending my money on especially right now. I'd rather spend it on Studio Series, Earthrise, hockey cards or hot wheels.

Yes actually. MP-47, Hound.

Well, it wasn't that you couldn't transform him, it was more that transforming him (especially more than once) usually meant you needed to buy a new one.

On another note, I sort of wondered why Takara never considered releasing a MP Jazz that didn't transform, since most collectors leave their figures in robot mode. Sure it wouldn't be ideal, but I bet for a MP Jazz, especially if they didn't milk the price on a non-transforming transformer, a lot of MP collectors would give it a look.
