New GI Joe/TF Collab, Dreadnok Soundwave! Or, how hollow is he?

https://news.tfw2005.com/2023/06/27/...st-look-488467

Looks like there's going to be a new GI Joe/TF collab. Soundwave as the Dreadnok Thunder Machine.

The vehicle mode looks like a fugly hot mess. That's not it's fault though since it is accurate to the original 80's toy which itself was a fugly hot mess.

In robot mode I see hollow biceps from the rear, hollow forearms from the inside. On the legs, the calves look hollow from behind.

I'm probably going to wait until this thing gets discounted like crossover Megatron did before I pull the trigger. And if I don't get him, no big deal either.

Man that Ravage molding kicks the *ss out of TR & Siege/Netflix, though - don’t see in these four pics what he turns into? His legs have got double joints, tho could just be for posing articulation

That's the Masterpiece Ravage mold by the looks of it. Turns into a cassette.

Re: New GI Joe/TF Collab, Dreadnok Soundwave! Or, how hollow is he?

Love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have loved this collab line so far. It has given me what I have always wanted, TFs that change into Joe vehicles. And we get O-ring figures that fit into the vehicle modes as well!!!!

Have the robot modes suffered some due to having the vehicle mode be the priority? Yes. However I think they have done a good job, and as to the hollowness. welcome to every TF line (except MP).

Soundwave looks to be the best integration so far. The colours match up much more than the previous two, and his robot mode seems to work fairly well with the Thunder Machine parts. I love that the turbine engine becomes his shoulder weapon and the front grill machine guns are his hand held weapon. He also comes with a knife/mini-sword that appears to attach to his leg. Great work on the design. I love that we are getting an O-ring Zartan and Zarana, it gives me some more replacement figs for the old ones that are degrading faster and faster.

Some weird choices, pics for me.....

Ravage is blue?? I wonder what that is about. Hopefully they will address it somewhere.

Poor Zartan. That shot of him and Zarana on Soundwave's back.....I guess he isn't long for this world. Putting your face right behind a turbine/weapon probably isn't the best thing for your health.

Another great choice/job for the Collab line. I also love that I can get updated O-ring figures, and a new Thunder Machine since the Joe team announced in their recent round table that the O-ring line is on "pause" for the foreseeable future.

Did they modify Ravage's shoulder from the MP?
They look smoother.

This one looks better than the Bumblebee one, and the Megatron one too.
It's pretty clear, the chest is the bottom of the car. But that's better than the chest hanging off the back end of the vehicle.
I like how they make sure the GIJoe figures have a place to stand in Bot mode.

What bugs me, is the front bars are partsforming. There's no other way those things end up on his legs.
Hollow bits don't bother me as much. They've carefully concealed them in the photo.

Glad they keep doing these. It's a neat way to get a GIJoe vehicle into the collection of a Transformers fan. I doubt I'll be shelling out the inflated prices for any of these, but I'm glad they exist.

PO's are up and they are shilling all the previous GIJOE/TRANSFORMERS crossover sales links because... nobody is sold out of this. Demand is low on these despite a few vocal minority saying they love it.

They look neat but their price puts them out of consideration for most people.

Gamestop has Soundwave up for preorder. Easy pass for me, honestly.

It looks a lot less hollow than Megatron and the crossover with the vehicle looks really good with Soundwave.

But holy s*** did they ever jack up the price compared to what Megatron was going for at GameStop ($155). Toy Crusaders is $150 and TF Toys is $140. Gamestop is just being greedy here.
