Much as it sucks, I think your best bet is just to deal with your costs on your own, maybe see a doctor if it gets worse. Free Health Care and all that. I really don't think its worth trying to get 20-30 bucks out of this guy just because he happened to get in your way. Consider yourself lucky you didn't get really hurt, especially since you weren't wearing a helmet.
Trips and falls happen, and just because someone didn't see you coming up the curb when they opened the door, it doesn't mean they have to pay you for it.
