Re: Display Cases - How to Get Them Home

Put them between the front seats and into the passenger foot well and into the driver's side back seat.

I have a small car but with the back seats folded down I can usually bring 3 or 4 detolfs home.

Strap em to the roof. Use a couple foam cusions, lay the boxes on the roof and strap them through the windows. I did it on my jeep. Remember, the glass is tempered and unless the edge makes contact with an abrasive surface it's EXTREMELY flexible. Have a little faith in it. Or go on youtube and watch what it takes to actually break tempered glass.

Re: Display Cases - How to Get Them Home

putting glass even in a cardboard box on a roof rack may cause it to crack. Just pony up the $35 to rent a van. It's like 19.99 to rent a van from home depot or some where else + gas.

Re: Display Cases - How to Get Them Home

I tied up my detolf and brought it home on a public transit bus no help required.
Mind you it was hard I still did it.
Depends on how inspired you are to get your detolfs home.
And this case I was and brought it home on the bus.
I don't think I will do it again.

Re: Display Cases - How to Get Them Home

My hatchback couldn't fit the boxes even though the back seats fold down so I had to borrow a mini-van. Billy shelves are even longer and had to hang out the back of the van.

The Detolf MIGHT have fit if I opened the box first. Maybe someone here has done that?

I second renting a small Uhaul or similar as the cheapest option.

Slightly more expensive (but you can have a nicer car for a weekend) go rent something from Enterprise, or even an SUV.
