Re: Michael Bay uses scenes from the "Island" to DOTM!!!
It's not the first time. Bay used and reused the same footage filmed at the US Air Force base with the F-22 and C-22.
This doesn't change my opinion that DOTM is still a bad movie. I watched it just so I can get a screen accurate look of the CGI for purpose of custom paint the toys.

Wasn't that where that extra got injured filming a stunt?
Could just be that they needed footage as a result of the accident.

Re: Michael Bay uses scenes from the "Island" to DOTM!!!
I have no problems with this. every director at some point will reuse scenes from other movies.

I don't know about you guys but I have seen a few movies in the past that made me think "deja-vu", like I've seen this part before, but in another movie.

What? Really?
Let me ask you this, would you feel differently if he had the freeway battle added to this movie solely because he knew he could make it "cheap filler" by using recycled footage, CGI, and some new driving shots?
I don't like using recycled footage, I think it sets a bad precedent, and I definitely don't think it's something every director does.

If it works, where's the harm?

Well, this is pretty much what I came in here to say.
Really, it works very well, so I have no problems with it. At the end of the day it was less than 10 seconds of footage, that Bay filmed for another movie of his. big deal..
