Ultimate Spider-Man Animated Series

The first two episodes of the Ultimate Spider-Man are already up.

First impressions. I like the animation style, but I find the pacing a little too ADHD. Too many 4th wall cut away gags like Teen Titans, Scott Pilgrim or Family Guy for my liking, especially during the action scenes. Some puzzling retconning but then again this is in the ultimate universe so I'll give that a pass. Good but not on par with AEMH, YJ, or even SSM on the basis of two episodes. I'm still cautiously optimistic though.

Re: Ultimate Spider-Man Animated Series

Just finished the first episode. The humour was very family guyish, but this is the first Spiderman cartoon I've seen that actually managed to get a few chuckles out of me. This seems like it's going to be very good, I'm definitely going to keep up with this show.

Thanks for the link. I'm not really sure how to feel. Spiderman is a great character, but I really still think that Spectaclar Spiderman captured the Life perfectly. I'll continue to watching it, but I really hope that there is some solid growth featured.

Re: Ultimate Spider-Man Animated Series

Oh man! I was wondering when this show was going to come out!

Speaking as a long Spidey fan, this is AWESOME! I love everything about it! Sure the 4th wall jokes are more of Deadpool's thing, but honestly, didn't Deadpool steal that from Spider-Man in the first place? And I don't see the comparison to Family Guy. That feels like an insult to this show. The Teen Titan and Scott Pilgrim influences I see as a plus though.

All in all, I'm loving this show!! Aunt May is so many kinds of awesome! Stan Lee as the Janitor is just genius! As is having Agent Coulson as the Principle. This show just reminded me how much I love Spider-Man! And I can't wait to see more! "Thwip! Thwip!"

Re: Ultimate Spider-Man Animated Series

Just saw the 2nd ep.

I don't love it. I don't hate it either. I actually got some yucks from it so I will continue to watch, but I still miss the old one.

Spidey (imo) is wise cracking, but not silly.

The third episode is up on 1channel.ch and icefilms.info. a step backwards in my opinion from the first two episodes.
