Re: New here

Welcome to the Board - hope you find your treasure in Transformers. I had a lot of friends transformers back when I was a kid - people gave them to me for next to nothing. I sold them for a year in University - BIG MISTAKE. Now I collect, then sell then collect then sell and now I'm collecting again. I love the alt modes of some, bases of others, micro's and combiners. Enjoy them my friend!

Welcome to the board!

Sorry for your loss. I assure you, it happens to most of us, but not on that magnitude

Re: New here

Welcome, slimebucket!

It's always amazing to hear about how something as simple as a love for Transformers (or any other type of collecting, hobby, or activity) brings peace of mind and comfort to someone, and what it means to have such a hobby in one's life. Thank you for sharing your story!

Re: New here

Welcome! What a story. Transformers bring me peace as well. Just the act of transforming a figure really helps keep me sane.

I used to have a big collection, but sold it off when I decided I was done. Now I'm back and building up a modest collection. The only thing I regret selling is my Beast Wars show character collection. I'm backfilling that currently, but everything else I'm getting is new to me. There's lots of great stuff out there currently for every taste. So as lots of people have said it's a great time to be a fan!

Re: New here

Welcome. Sounds like my mother in law. And yes she is Filipino and always sends stuff back to Philippines lol. My mom also threw out my collection. It was small but still I missed it. Until I attended TFCon and saw all the plastic crack from my youth can be bought, original or reissue or knock off.

Enjoy reliving your happy days. Many of us buy toys for nostalgia. Keeps us happy.

Re: New here

welcome aboard mate, this is the best place if you are interested in transformers, I am also enjoying my stay.

Does your home in Langley need a design boost? Do you need to renovate parts of it, such as your kitchen, to make it livelier or more inviting? If you are having plans of starting a renovation project, you’ll need the help of a professional home renovations Langley company to complete the job. We're the best general contractors in vancouver too.

Re: New here

Welcome to the boards. I shed a tear reading about when your Mom sent those G1's overseas. Happened to me too. (most likely in a Balibayan box)

What I did was imagine all those poor little kids freaking out over toys that they could never ever possibly own because their poverty. Definitely made them smile. Maybe your collection made new Transformers fans and have a community over there too like this? Who knows?

But... the whole fun at this point in time is the hunt and meeting some pretty nice people at the same time.

I'll be at TFCON this year. Hope to see you there.
