Transformers: The Movie (1986) - Theatre Showing in Toronto - Tuesday, August 16th
Not sure if this is the best section for this, mods please move if it isn't.
So it looks like the Royal Cinema in Downtown Toronto (venerable institution of cult films that it is) is doing a showing of the 1986 Transformers Movie again, on Tuesday, August 16th at 8pm.

Along with what appears to be a Q/A by none other than the Cybertronic Spree!

Now, I'm not sure if this means there'll be a concert too, but that's what it was like when they did this last year, and it was a total blast.
I'd never seen the movie in a true theatre setting before then (came close with the showings at various TFcons), and I can't recommend doing so enough.
I'm going to try and make it to this, and I recommend all of you who can do the same!

I when to the last screening that they did for the movie and the Cybertronic Spree did do a concert after.
Also during the screening of the movie, there were a select few people that did voice comments and jokes about some scenes in the movie.
So if you don't like to have people shouting jokes/comments (ie pointing out flaw(s)) during a screening, this might not be for you.
Other than that, it was enjoyable watching the movie in theatres again.

I would love to see this in theatres with my kids.
Wish it would also play in GMA.

I missed out on the original release, back in 86, and wish I could have a chance to see it on the big screen here in New Brunswick!

Ha!
What are your excuses for not seeing it in theatres back then?
My parents thought it would traumatize me with the death of Optimus Prime
.... while continuing to watch the evening news full gruesome and uncensored videos of accidents, murders, beatings etc.
A year later or so, I also had to deal with Yellow 4's death in Bioman.

The theatre down there would get the odd Anime release. But I don't have a prayer up here. I'm going to try and at least get the new bluray release.

Hmmm... that could actually be a dealbreaker for me... was it constant chatter or just a light sprinkling...?
I mean, I have no problem with moderate audience participation... when it's actually *funny*... but it's really starting to piss me off when people try to star in their own version of MST3K just be yelling out all the old flaws that *everybody* knows ("Where's Snarl?!" "Wreck-Gar's lips aren't moving!" yeah yeah... we know... those aren't even jokes)
