Shout Factory Beast Wars DVD Full Series Set

With Reboot, they released the first set, Seasons 1 + 2, to retail and the complete set as a temporary online exclusive. The Reboot complete set will eventually go to retail after the individual sets have been out for awhile. I imagine that will be the case with Beast Wars as this is following the same pattern from what I can tell.

I bought my Reboot set from an eBay seller that had the rights to sell the set on eBay from Shout Factory, so that should also be an option in case there is a problem with getting Beast Wars on DVD in Canada.

I'd like to point out that the title difference will probably make no difference regarding whether or not this set will be released in Canada or not.

The title change was done for television to keep the word War out of the title as the CRTC tries to keep certain bad words away from children.

Now think back a few years ago, the Rhino Beast Wars set was released here without having the name changed and multiple other DVDs and shows IE the Star Wars (anyone?) is released here without any problems as well.


They're working on it...may also be an issue of no bilingual packaging at the moment...who knows...

I didn't think the Beast Wars DVD sets from Rhino ever showed up in major retailers in Canada at all. News to me if they did. I remember trying to buy season 1 on the release day at a DVD specialty shop and there was no such listing on the store's computers.

I'm pretty sure the issue has nothing to do with Beast Wars vs Beasties, it's about the home video rights in Canada. It was Alliance Atlantis that had the Canadian home video rights for ages, and now that company is owned by Shaw Media.

So if Shout doesn't have rights to sell the show in Canada, that would likely be why. Perhaps someone can research this further.

So i'm confused then why it's listed on amazon.ca (Season 1 boxset) ?
