Re: Happy 20th Birthday, Beast Wars!
Beast Wars is by far one of my favourite cartoons from my childhood. I watch this series at least once per year and find something new to like about it everytime.

I was an awesome episode. Along with Transmutate easily some of the best TV we have ever seen as Transformer fans.

Re: Happy 20th Birthday, Beast Wars!
Code of Hero is a tremendous episode that many, many fans consider one of the high points of BW and TF animation as a whole. It is completely fair after 20 years of discussion for the TFW writer to state it is one of the best episodes of TF tv ever. It's not based on pure opinion. IMO BW is the single best Transformers-based television show ever created, with only Animated coming close. Prime isn't my thing but it's certainly not bad, just not my thing.
Anyway, so this thread doesn't derail, what I remember most was simply having no idea this existed because it was called Beasties. I was 14-15 in 96. I'd seen the new Beast Wars toys in the store, didn't know what to make of them.
So I'm sitting in my room watching YTV and a credits voice-over goes on about "heroic beasts yadda yadda on a strange planet. from the creators of reboot, beasties". I rolled my eyes at the name "beasties". At the time, Reboot had yet to get to the outstanding season 3 and I'd grown tired of it (I still don't think s1 or s2 are great outside of a handful of episodes).
But since I was a lazy teen who basically sat in his room half the nights watching TV, I watched.
The intro drops. Okay, whatever, some cgi animals. Fine. Remember that there are no robot modes or transformations in the first 10-15 seconds.
Then the title card hits. BEEEAASTTTIIIIES. Fine. What---
TRANSFORMERS????!!!
Yeahhhhhh my interest shot up 800%.
Turns out the show was PRETTY DAMN GOOD, too.
It was fun being a working teenager while the toys were coming out, too. Didn't get them all new but I worked at WalMart during the Transmetal era. Bwahahahaha.

Not gonna bother with the arguments, just gonna add my voice to the many who believe beast wars was fantastic and code of hero sits easily in my top 5 transformers episodes across all series.

Re: Happy 20th Birthday, Beast Wars!
I'm not a "Beast Wars guy" but it's a well written show that brought Transformers back from the grave. I learned to appreciate it much later in life, but like others I remember getting really excited when I heard the names Megatron and Optimus the first time I watched it.
