Something to consider for future premium guests.
I know and understand all the reasons why the Peter Cullen situation is what it is, and this is not an attack on Mr. Cullen or the TFCon organisers.
I understand that the cost of the Peter Cullen VIP experience incudes an autograph, a meeting/photo op, priority seating for his panel, and admission for the entire weekend. And it all make sense.
What I would like to put out there, for the future, is to consider attendees like me.
All the other stuff that the package includes:
Meeting/photo op: While it would be cool to actually meet Mr. Cullen I could actually care LESS about the photo op and would NEVER pay for one if they had been offered separately.
Panel priority seating: I would GLADLY sit in the back. This is not a big deal to me. I can see and hear him just fine and if I really want to ask a question I can just get in line at the mic like everyone else. Not worth the extra money.
Full weekend attendance: I'm not going to be there all 3 days. I'll likely only be there on the Saturday, and only for a few hours. Just long enough to get what I can signed and a couple trips around the dealer room.
All I really cared about, as far as Mr. Cullen is concerned, was getting him to sign at least 1 thing.
I understand the great deal the package is compared to what what Botcon charges, but it's still at least $70 (subtracting $30 for Saturday admission, and assuming a $50 autograph fee) that I would never spend.
All I'm suggesting is that, for the future, perhaps have some lower tier packages for people like me, who are only going to come for one day and don't really care about all that extra crap. 1 day admission, an autograph, no photos, no priority seating, no bells and whistles.

Re: Something to consider for future premium guests.
It is very likely that there is no way around the premium ticket meet and greet style approach for some guests.
Looking at Peter Cullen's recent convention appearances in Australia(iirc), Texas, Calgary and now TFcon all have had very similar packages, never mind Botcon's Primus plus ticket.

Perhaps. But it's worth checking into it.

Re: Something to consider for future premium guests.
I would have preferred him as a separate entity from the weekend package because Now I have two weekend tickets as a result of not actually understanding it. Anyone want a ticket for a weekend PM me.
Having options to pick from, or package choices would be idea.

Re: Something to consider for future premium guests.
In Australia he was just a regular guest and charged $50 per signature.

I am under the impression that tickets are non transferable for cullen, it may have been addressed already in one of the other 20 threads about this haha. Check out the page where you buy the tickets, I think it says it in he section for the Cullen ticket.

Correct, this is the only way this could be offered.

Fair enough, though it still seems to be the exception to the rule.
There are still a lot of other variables to consider.
For instance, that company runs six major conventions in Australia, and reportedly had attendance numbers of over 160,000 people for all 6 shows combined. Those numbers likely give them a lot of flexibility. Plus they seem to book everyone for two shows in Australia that are a week apart which would no doubt give them additional bargaining power.

Ok, again, not pointing fingers, or trying to make accusations of "price gouging", I want to make that ABUNDANTLY CLEAR!
But having the VIP experience tied to a full weekends admission seems like an oddly specific stipulation for Mr. Cullen (or more likely his "people") to make.
Even if you still had to include all the stuff like the photo op and such, couldn't there be lower tier packages with 1, 2, or 3 day admissions?
